Our Curriculum

Our curriculum is shaped by the Early Years Learning Framework and the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline, and influenced by Reggio Emilia principles. It's built around play, inquiry, and intentional teaching.

We don't separate learning into subject boxes. Literacy, numeracy, science, and the arts are woven through projects, conversations, and experiences that matter to children. When learning connects to genuine curiosity, children engage more deeply and retain more.

Our educators observe carefully, document children's thinking, and use what they learn to plan experiences that extend and challenge. This cycle of observation, planning, and reflection is how we ensure every child is progressing and every program is responsive to the children in it.

Above-Ratio Staffing

We staff above the mandated ratios because it changes what's possible. It means educators have time to really know each child, to notice what they're ready for, and to respond to individual needs and interests. It creates a calmer environment where children feel secure and where meaningful learning can happen.

For families, this means your child isn't lost in a crowd. Their educators know their strengths, their challenges, what lights them up, and what they need support with. It also means we can offer genuine inclusion for children with additional needs, working alongside families and specialists to adapt our program.

Toddlers

(15 months - 2.5 years)

UP TO 12 CHILDREN

The toddler years are about trust, security, and connection. Before children can explore, they need to feel safe. Our program prioritises warm, consistent relationships and predictable routines so children know what to expect and that their needs will be met.

Daily experiences include sensory play, music and movement, and early language development. Educators support emerging social skills, understanding these take time to develop. Our environment invites exploration while offering comfort, and we communicate daily with families about your child's day.

Pre-Kindy

(2.5 years - 3.5 years)

UP TO 15 CHILDREN

In Pre-Kindy, children are becoming more independent, forming friendships, and asking bigger questions. Our program offers meaningful choices, extended time for play, and experiences that respond to children's curiosity.

Early literacy develops through stories, songs, and mark-making. Numeracy and STEM concepts are explored through real materials and genuine problems. We also focus on the harder skills: expressing emotions appropriately, negotiating with peers, and attempting tasks independently. Families receive regular updates on learning and development.

Kindergarten

(3.5 years - 5 years)

UP TO 22 CHILDREN

Our approved Kindergarten program is led by a bachelor-qualified teacher. It balances play-based learning with intentional teaching in literacy, numeracy, and STEM, developed through meaningful projects and small group instruction.

School readiness is built across the whole year. Children develop practical skills like following instructions, managing belongings, and the fine motor control needed for writing. Equally important is emotional readiness: confidence, resilience, self-regulation, and the ability to navigate friendships and separate comfortably from family. We work with families and schools to ensure transitions are well supported.

Creativity & Expression

Art, music, drama, and imaginative play are central to how children think and communicate. We provide time, space, and quality materials for children to express ideas and develop original thinking. This builds dispositions that serve children throughout life: willingness to take risks, persistence, and the ability to see problems from different angles.

Partnerships With Families

We recognise families as children's first and most important educators. You know your child in ways we never will, and your insights shape how we support them.

Partnership here means genuine collaboration. We invite you to contribute to curriculum, share your family's culture and traditions, and tell us what matters to your child. We document learning and make it visible through our platform so you can see how your child's thinking is developing. We make time for real conversations and actively seek your feedback to improve our practice.

When home and the centre are connected, children thrive. They see their family reflected in their learning environment and develop a stronger sense of who they are.
