National Quality Framework

Ascot Early Childhood operates under the National Quality Framework, the system that sets standards for early childhood education and care across Australia. We hold an Exceeding rating across all seven quality areas.

An Exceeding rating means going beyond what's required. It recognises embedded practice, critical reflection, and meaningful engagement with families and community. For us, it confirms that what we believe about children and learning is evident in what actually happens here.

We staff above ratios so educators can connect with children individually. Our team are qualified, experienced, and committed to ongoing learning. Our environments support curiosity, independence, and belonging. We partner genuinely with families and reflect critically on our practice.

The rating is an independent assessment of quality, but more than that, it reflects our commitment to doing this work well.

Early Years Learning Framework

The Early Years Learning Framework is the national curriculum framework for children from birth to five years and guides everything we do.

The framework is built around five learning outcomes: developing a strong sense of identity, connecting with and contributing to their world, developing wellbeing, becoming confident learners, and becoming effective communicators. These shape how we plan, interact, and assess learning.

Our curriculum combines play-based learning with intentional teaching. We follow children's interests while ensuring they build the skills they need, creating environments that invite inquiry and offer time to explore deeply.

The framework also emphasises partnerships with families and respect for diversity. Your family's culture, language, and values are part of your child's identity, and we reflect that in our program.
